On February 21, 2024, The Sole Ingredient Catering had the privilege of partnering with the City of Chicago for a historic evening celebrating Black History Month.
The largest Charcuterie board ever ! Created for Black History Month for the Mayor of Chicago’s Black History Month Celebration This was an amazing event, Please emphasize credit to our Pastry Chef, Treats By Carrie, she is amazing.
The event, hosted by Aisha Oliver and the African-American Engagement Council, was a tribute to the enduring spirit of the community. Guests were moved by Poet Lorett Avery R’s performance regarding the Middle Passage and inspired by Mayor Brandon Johnson’s call to honor legends like Harold Washington and Ida B. Wells. Event Highlights:
Keynote: Mayor Brandon Johnson on systemic progress and shared prosperity.
Cultural Tribute: Poetry by Lorett Avery R and a tribute to Baba Oscar Brown Jr.
